Get Bizzy on Roamin'
"Get Bizzy" shooting and editing on Roamin'
"Wah Wow, let's do this!" is the famous phrase used by the big man in the business, when he is about to embark on a new and exciting project. The man to whom we refer is Mr. Selwyne “Get Bizzy” Browne, well known for creating, directing and producing some of the hottest music videos, commercials and TV shows in Barbados. Here from almost the inception of the programme, Mr. Get Bizzy is a camera man and editor on Roamin'!
Selwyne’s interest for the camera all started when he commenced his tertiary education in the study of Micro Computer Technology and Computer Programming. His journey begun shortly after receiving his degree, when he was simply asked to hold a camcorder to capture footage of a family gathering and as we would usually say ….the rest was history.
With a deep love and passion for film directing, Mr. Get Bizzy devoted most of his time in nurturing his fascination by purchasing software tutorials and books which helped to lay a solid foundation.
During these developmental stages, a small group was born. The group comprised of Selwyne and some of his friends who together enrolled to study Digital Film Making to hone their skills. Months later, the group entered three short films in a national competition held by NIFCA and eventually won best short film. Their accolades include an award from the NCSA for a short feature on substance abuse.
With a brand new company called Zotikos Studios, which means to give life, Mr. Get Bizzy is definitely a breath of fresh air and is the new heart beat of Barbados in cinematography. Selwyne can be praised for producing top commercials, projects which include Cohobblopot 2008 and TV shows such as Riddim Express aired on Carib Vision, Roamin TV aired on CBS and CBC Barbados, Access TV, The National Cultural Foundation footage of Crop Over 2008 and Business Watch all aired on CBC Barbados.
He has produced some of the hottest music videos in Barbados which include My Boo performed by Omar feat Hawkeye and Buggy with his Outside Lady. These two videos were both awarded Best Music Videos at the Barbados Music Awards. Other videos include All Nite and Push Back/Love De Carnival performed by Tarah Holdipp, the latter which spent 3 weeks at #5 on Torontolime.com and has enjoyed a 12 week run at #5 on Synergy TV, Trinidad, Call De Police performed by the Poundas, Tru Dat and Nothing But Love, A tribute to the late Wizzard of the Poundas performed by Inchiz, Move Wemixx-Trezey, Billy Kincaid and Fitzroy, Totally Unacceptable performed by Keisha Christian and Handle Yah Bizniz performed by one of Barbados’ leading bands Krosfyah. His team also served as DP, Grips, Lighting and editing on the band’s hit tune Nah Missing Me.
Selwyne has teamed up with three (3) other production companies -Marnikomedia, 246 Media and Renaissance Movie Creations to form the Barbados Media Group United (BMGU) with a view of facilitating larger projects and to satisfy the increasing demand in creating music videos and TV shows. One of the group’s long term goals is to later produce short movies and full length films.
With a do-it-yourself attitude of that of his earlier mentor Film Director, Robert Rodriguez, Selwyne “Get Bizzy” Browne possesses some of the greatest qualities to maintain longevity in this growing and competitive business of entertainment.
